Tom Doak’s Scottish debut, and in classic Doak fashion, Renaissance splits opinion. ‘Not real links’ is often a common term used to describe Renaissance, and I couldn’t disagree more. It is an excellent course and plays well from all tee boxes. The holes feel vast and playable whilst introducing you to intricacies and punishments as you plot your way round. The three or four holes down by the water stand out, the member’s 10th hole is signature as it sweeps around the coast.
